Patient has questions regarding wait times changing.

Wait times are based on several factors of the Emergency Room.

Occasionally, a patient may experience a change in their wait times. While we strive to make sure that this happens as rarely as possible, there are several factors that make up the wait time estimates, including:

  • The number of patients being treated in the ER
  • ER room & bed availability
  • Pending lab results
  • Acuity of new and existing patients in the waiting room

Each of these factors are taken in to account, and the wait time estimates are recalculated multiple times per second. We understand that the ER is constantly changing, and we build in buffers to ensure that wait times will often remain constant, however we also want to ensure that the patient has the best possible wait time estimate available.
